Three United players have urged Sancho to apologise to Ten Hag – but common belief is player’s career at club is over

There is a growing belief that Jadon Sancho may have played his last game for Manchester United, as a resolution to his public feud with Erik ten Hag looks less likely by the day.

The 23-year-old was dropped from the Red Devils’ matchday squad to face Arsenal on September 3 entirely, with Ten Hag stating that Sancho’s performances in training had not been up to scratch.

Sancho then took to X, formerly Twitter, following the game to rebuff the claims, labelling them as ‘lies’ and himself a ‘scapegoat’. He was subsequently exiled from all first-team action and facilities after refusing to apologise to the manager.

Reds trio urge Sancho to apologise

Now, over four weeks on from the incident, the winger remains firm in his stance that he is in the right. According to ESPN, fellow Englishmen Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford have also urged Sancho to swallow his pride and apologise to Ten Hag.

ESPN’s report adds: “Ten Hag, according to a source close to the situation, has not completely closed the door on the possibility that Sancho could be reintegrated into the squad but there is acceptance around the club that an apology received now – more than a month after his social media post – would not have the same impact as one received during initial talks with Ten Hag following the game at Arsenal.”

It appears that the most likely outcome now is that Sancho leaves Old Trafford at the first chance he has to do so – the January transfer window. United will have to cut their losses if they oversee a permanent sale, as his £73 million price tag is now completely unjustified when assessing his output and time as a Red.

  1. Even if sancho apologises to ten hag, still the manager would treat him unfairly since sancho stated earlier that the manager had other issues with him. Man united board should investigate the way the manager handles the players.

    1. He should swallow his pride. The club is more important than any single player. Too much money has corrupted his mind, making him think that he is a small god! His contribution to the team has been very minimal. Sell him and remember he had disciplinary issues throughout his career!
