Manchester United left-back returns to training ahead of Brentford clash

Manchester United have received a boost as Sergio Reguilon returns to training ahead of Saturday’s game against Brentford.

The club confirmed via their website on Thursday that the Spaniard is close to returning from a hamstring injury he suffered against Burnley.

That said, it didn’t seem like there was much hope for Reguilon to be ready in time for the game against Thomas Frank’s Brentford side.

ESPN reporter Rob Dawson has provided an update this morning that Reguilon trained with the team this morning ahead of the game against Brentford.

Erik ten Hag is expected to give an update on Reguilon’s fitness in the next half hour when he addresses questions from the press at Carrington.

The return of Reguilon will come as a bonus because Ten Hag has had to play loanee signing Sofyan Amrabat at left-back in recent games. It’s far from the ideal and we are all keen to see what the Moroccan can bring to the side in midfield.

I think Ten Hag will be wary of rushing Reguilon back because he’s had his problems with injuries in the past. The last thing the team needs is another setback for one of the left-backs in the squad.
