Erik ten Hag rules defender out of Brentford clash in latest team news update

Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Sergio Reguilon will miss Saturday’s game against Brentford.

The Red Devils will be looking to make up for their midweek misery in Europe when they return to Premier League action tomorrow.

Ten Hag will still need to navigate an injury-plagued squad though, with Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tyrell Malacia, Amad Diallo and Lisandro Martinez all long-term absentees.

Reguilon ruled out

Reguilon has missed the past three matches due to a minor injury but made a return to team training on Friday, making fans hopeful that he may be fit in time to play tomorrow’s clash with the Bees.

However, Ten Hag told the media today that the game will come too soon for the Spaniard, meaning Sofyan Amrabat will likely be deployed out of position again to fill in for the absent Reds at left-back.

On a more positive note, Kobbie Mainoo may make his long-awaited comeback following the international break.
