Brentford manager Thomas Frank is aware of the pressure Manchester United are facing right now, but he is unsure whether it’s ever a good time to face England’s biggest football club.
There is no hiding the fact Manchester United are on a dismal run of form after losing 6 of their first 10 matches this season. Tuesday’s 3-2 Champions League defeat at home to Galatasaray only made matters worse.
Erik ten Hag has had to deal with an ongoing injury crisis that has depleted his defence since the start of the new season. That on top of off pitch problems, the Dutchman has had his work cut out for him at Old Trafford.
Brentford visit Old Trafford in the league on Saturday and Thomas Frank acknowledges there may be extra pressure on United to win. At the same time, he is fully aware of the fact Brentford haven’t won at the Theatre of Dreams since February 1937.
“The flip-side is that they need to bounce back and come flying out to do everything they can to beat us,” Frank said, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News. “There will be pressure to beat Brentford but Man United is a massive club, the pressure is there to win every game.
“I don’t think it makes a difference that they haven’t played that well. I am always in doubt when you meet a team with great form and momentum, whether it’s bad or will that run end?
“It’s a great club, great team, great manager and fantastic players. A big challenge but we look forward to it and we’ll go there believing we can get something out of it.”
Brentford have not enjoyed a positive start to the season either. Frank’s side have won just one game since the start of the Premier League campaign and we can’t let them get the better of us this weekend.
