Rasmus Hojlund was the only silver lining for Manchester United on Tuesday night as they fell to a 3-2 defeat against Galatasaray.

Our season went from bad to worse as the Reds made it six defeats in their first 10 games. It doesn’t bode well for the rest of the season, but hopefully Erik ten Hag can find a fix in the coming weeks.

Hojlund’s performance against the Turkish champions warrants praise. The 20-year-old is full of energy and his pressed the Galatasaray defence like a determined hound. His pace and power with the ball cause their defence problems and he topped off his performance with a brace.

I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him, though. Hojlund was let down by his defence on the night when his own performance was faultless it so many ways.

The young Denmark international deserved to be on the winning side, but instead he features in the WhoScored team of the week.

Team of the Week – Matchday 2: Ter Stegen; Cancelo, Rakitskyi, Schar, Bensebaini; Bukari, Bellingham, Barella, Lang; Hojlund, Morata.

There was no room for any other United players following their poor display.
