Tottenham Hotspur’s Cristian Romero claims that Lisandro Martinez is the best defender in the world.
The fellow Argentina defender was speaking to Prime Video Sport when he was asked to rate his top five Argentinian stars in the Premier League.
Romero ranked the Manchester United centre-back, who is currently out injured, as the best defender in the world.
Martinez picked up a foot injury against Arsenal earlier this month and hasn’t fully recovered yet, despite going away on international duty a week later.
Romero said: “Licha, who for me is by far the best defender in the world.”

Third spot went to Liverpool new signing Alexis Mac Allister and Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez sits second on the list.
United fans will hope that Martinez isn’t ruled out for too long, and that when the Butcher returns he will be performing at a higher standard.
The former Ajax star is likely to miss this weekend’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace. Erik ten Hag will have Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire to select from at centre-back.
Ten Hag has yet to confirm when Martinez is expected to return.
