Manchester United send scouts to watch Valencia starlet Javi Guerra

Manchester United are believed to be keeping an eye on Valencia starlet Javi Guerra.

The 20-year-old midfielder is garnering attention across Europe, but Marca claim scouts from both Manchester United and Newcastle have kept a close eye on him this season.

Guerra has a £87 million release clause, along with another four years left on his contract, but it’s unlikely that any club will pay that amount.

Whoever commits to trying to secure Guerra’s signature will be hopeful to secure his signature for less than his release clause. That will ultimately come down to Valencia as the selling club.

After joining Valencia’s academy in 2019 from rival club Villarreal, Guerra signed his first professional contract in 2021. The youngster made his La Liga debut in April, but he scored a late winner after coming off the bench against Sevilla in the first game of this season.

Guerra’s stock will only rise if he continues his recent form of three goals in six games.

On top of that, United already have talented midfielders coming through like Kobbie Mainoo and Hannibal Mejbri. But adding more talent to the ranks can only be a good thing.

United should be signing the best young players in the world every summer. We’ll keep an eye on Guerra and whether the reports linking him to Old Trafford continue or fade away.
