Phil Jones begins course at PFA business school

Former Manchester United defender Phil Jones has announced his latest move on social media after beginning a course with the PFA business school.

Jones left United in the summer after several injury hit years, but he is now studying in global football sport directorship whilst also pressing on with his coaching badges.

The coaching badges will be done through United.

Jones took to social media with a rare post this morning, writing: “Start of a new journey. Great to begin the global football sport directorship course with the PFA business school, learning new things about the game, whilst also continuing to push ahead with my A licence and badges at the club that gave me so much. Excited to get started.”

While Jones has not officially retired from football, it looks like he is turning his attention to life after playing football. It remains unclear if he has received offers to move elsewhere.

The 31-year-old, who has been capped 27 times by England, made 229 appearances for United and scored six goals.

Jones joined in 2011 from Blackburn Rovers and was part of the Premier League-winning team in 2012-13. His last appearance came in a 3-0 win over Brentford at the end of last season.

The defender also won the FA Cup in 2016, the League Cup and Europa League in 2017.
