Manchester United coaches impressed with loanee’s attitude

Sergio Reguilon’s impact at left-back since joining Manchester United on loan this summer has surprisingly been one of the positives this season.

Nobody believes the Spaniard was high on Erik ten Hag’s list of targets until it became clear we had an injury crisis in the full-back department.

The Reds initially looked at Marc Cucurella, but Reguilon came instead and proved to be a blessing in disguise.

After arriving from Tottenham, Reguilon has now started three games in a row and Luke Shaw is expected to be out for another while.

According to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, Reguilon has made a good impact at United and the coaches are very happy with him.

“Man United’s coaches are very happy with Sergio Reguilon both on and off the pitch,” Romano said.

“He has a fantastic attitude, a very good relationship with his new teammates, and understands Ten Hag’s ideas.”

Reguilon has struggled at Tottenham and saw himself fall down the pecking order to third choice left-back. Now, he’s starting every game for United.

It was an unpopular signing when first announced, but Reguilon could find himself earn a permanent contract if he can continue to prove himself under Ten Hag.

United do not have a buy option in the defender’s loan so we would have to negotiate his potential exit.
