Manchester United are up and running at Turf Moor this evening as Erik ten Hag looks to put an end to his side’s three-game losing streak in all competitions.
Pressure is mounting on Ten Hag to turn things around at the club following a poor start to the season and a defeat tonight would make him the first manager since Louis van Gaal to lose four games on the spin.
Burnley started the game in promising form and almost scored the opening goal when a free-flowing attack culminated in the ball striking Andre Onana’s left-hand post.
Minutes later, it looked like Jonny Evans had marked his 200th appearance for the Reds with a goal but the goal was ruled out after VAR intervened.
With the first half approaching its end, it looked like both sides were settling for a scoreless first 45 minutes but Bruno Fernandes provided some magic to give his side the lead, as seen below

He may not have got on the scoresheet but Evans was still involved in United’s opener as his perfectly floated ball found Fernandes magnificently and the Portugal international connected beautifully on the volley.
The strike was unstoppable and after just five and a half games of this Premier League season, Fernandes has already scored a Goal of the Season contender.
