Manchester United sent a delegation of Erik ten Hag, Bruno Fernandes, Rasmus Hojlund, Richard Arnold, Richard Murtough and Bryan Robson to Manchesterplatz on Thursday to pay their respects to those who tragically died in the Munich Air Disaster.
We were in Munich as United began their Champions League campaign with a 4-3 defeat against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
That morning, a number of us set off to Manchesterplatz to pay our respects to the victims of the 1958 plane crash in which 23 people, including eight United players, lost their lives. There was groups of United fans arriving throughout the day in scorching conditions.

However, United sent a delegation of their own out to Manchesterplatz on Thursday – the morning following the game.

It is good that the club made an effort to show their respects but they’ve been criticised in the past for not making an effort to do so when in Germany.
