United’s confirmed travelling squad for Bayern includes injury returnee – but there’s one notable omission

Manchester United’s travelling squad for Germany has been confirmed, as the squad look to open their Champions League campaign on a positive note.

Despite returning to team training this morning, Raphael Varane and Mason Mount have not made the trip, so the pair may be deemed fully fit in time for Saturday’s clash with Burnley.

Tom Heaton has recovered from his calf injury and joins the goalkeeping union to provide backup to Andre Onana.

Harry Maguire is a notable omission from the list, however, The Athletic has confirmed that this is due to a fitness issue. This means that Victor Lindelof will likely partner Lisandro Martinez again in Varane’s absence.

Erik ten Hag has named his 21-man squad to face Bayern Munich on Wednesday

Youngsters Dan Gore and Omari Forson are included, and it’ll certainly be an extraordinary experience for the Carrington prospects to take in the Allianz Arena on a European night.

Kick-off is at 8pm tomorrow evening.
