Manchester United return to action tomorrow afternoon when they take on Brighton and Hove Albion, following a two-week-long international break.

Their last outing was at the Emirates and it certainly left a sour taste when United conceded two injury-time goals to lose the clash 3-1 against longtime rivals Arsenal.

To make matters worse, Alejandro Garnacho thought he’d won the match just moments before Declan Rice’s goal, but a VAR check chalked the Argentine’s contribution off.

United now have two wins and two losses on the board after their first four matches, though Erik ten Hag believes they should’ve left North London with something on September 3.

Ten Hag reflects on deflating Arsenal loss

He said: “We close, we work on the feedback – give the team feedback. I think we played very well against Arsenal. You could already see before the game [that] we trained very well, and played very well. I think we deserved much more against Arsenal, [luck] was not on our side and that was definitely the outcome of our analysis.

“But you see we are progressing against a good Arsenal,” Ten Hag continued. “But minimum, we had to get a draw there and I think we should’ve won there – but we didn’t. We take the performance and also in the last two days when all the players came back, we trained very well. We are ready to fight Brighton – a very good Brighton – we are really looking forward to [it]. We have a lot of energy, we have a good vibe, so we are ready for it.”
