Manchester United CEO forces senior figure to intervene with Sancho and Ten Hag feud as sparks continue to fly

Manchester United’s CEO Richard Arnold has ordered football director John Murtough to try and resolve the ongoing feud between Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho.

With the Red Devils’ return to Premier League action just three days away, supporters are in the dark as to whether £72 million-man Jadon Sancho will be featuring for the side when they welcome Brighton and Hove Albion to Old Trafford.

Sancho was omitted from the squad for their last match against Arsenal, with Ten Hag admitting post-match that the winger’s performances in training were not up to scratch.

The 23-year-old then took it upon himself to try and clear his name with a written statement shared to Twitter, in which he deemed himself a ‘scapegoat’ and rebutted his manager’s claims. It was deleted from the platform yesterday.

Sancho and Ten Hag yet to make amends

Reports have since suggested that the situation remains unresolved between the pair even after holding clear-the-air talks. United were reportedly willing to sanction Sancho’s exit in the closing stages of the transfer window, but he and his team were against leaving. Whether or not he’ll push for a January move remains to be seen.

As per the Express, Murtough has now been forced to intervene in hopes of saving Ten Hag and Sancho’s relationship.
