Journalist dismisses claims that Sofyan Amrabat is injured; midfielder will play over international break

Sofyan Amrabat is not currently injured despite several outlets reporting that he would be sidelined for six weeks.

Speculation circulated this morning that the 27-year-old has sustained a back problem over the summer, which was flagged during his Manchester United medical on deadline day. The club still opted to go through with the deal.

However, whilst that may have been the case last week, James Ducker of The Telegraph has assured that Amrabat is now fit and will feature for his native Morocco across the international break.

Amrabat’s likely debut outing

This means his debut is set to come when club football resumes, with United’s first game back in action against Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford on September 16.

Following that, the Reds take on their first group-stage game to kickstart their Champions League journey; away to European giants Bayern Munich on September 20.

It was confirmed on Tuesday that Amrabat will wear the No.4 shirt throughout his season-long loan and if excels during the stint, his move could be made permanent next summer.
