Sofyan Amrabat officially signs for Manchester United on season-long loan

Sofyan Amrabat has officially signed for Manchester United on a season-long loan from Fiorentina, The Athletic has confirmed.

The Red Devils will pay €10 million up-front with a further buy option of €20m, plus €5m in add-ons.

United are expected to announce Amrabat’s arrival imminently, as he has already signed his contract and the two clubs have completed all documentation.

It’s unlikely that the 27-year-old will be registered in time to feature against Arsenal, so will make his official debut following the September international break.

Amrabat waited on United

Across the summer, Amrabat only had eyes for United and waited until deadline day to get his dream move, rebuffing interest from other sides in the process.

He’ll bolster Erik ten Hag’s midfield in what promises to be an exciting campaign, with the return of Champions League football also on the horizon. His performances could well earn him a permanent transfer this time next summer, meaning the Moroccan will stay at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future.
