Erik ten Hag happy with Manchester United’s business this summer

Erik ten Hag says he is happy with Manchester United’s business this summer, although there could be another signing announced before the end of the night. Sergio Reguilon trained with his new teammates for the first time this morning. The Spaniard is now in line to make his debut against Arsenal on Sunday.

Manchester United decided to sign Reguilon on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur after Luke Shaw sustained an injury that could keep him out of action for up to 10 weeks.

It is understood that new goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has also been registered in time to travel with the squad to London.

“Potentially, yes,” Ten Hag said of new arrivals being available for this weekend’s fixture, as per Manchester Evening News. “Could be because we have to register them by now.

“He (Reguilon) is here, he trained. He’s a very experienced player, played for big clubs, already played a lot of La Liga and Premier League games.

“He has a very good background, he can play very intense football, so we are happy. We had a problem with Luke Shaw injured and Tyrell Malacia injured, they are long-term out, so we responded well in that emergency situation.

“He will be in the squad as well, yeah, so happy. Now we have to keep the group, again it’s fully there. We’ve covered every position and I think we have a very good ‘keeper group arrival in Altay.”

Furthermore, Ten Hag was asked to comment on Sofyan Amrabat since United are in talks to sign the Moroccan midfielder from Fiorentina.

“There are so many rumours, but it’s nice, heh?

“We have done good business, we conducted a strong squad and we are ready to go with the fight. I can’t tell because I don’t know if we can sign. We we have news, we will report it immediately.

“If you see the schedule, it’s tough, it’s really condensed, when you see last season, the World Cup, crazy season, the season takes longer.

“Two weeks, we played FA Cup final one week longer, we had a short break, we had a really condensed pre-season again. We need numbers but you also need quality.

“We have the depth and the quality players in, they can play in a variety of systems and we are happy with it. We are ready to go for the fight.

“Bayindir? We followed him, scouted him very intense, we think he has the skills to fit in, fit in Man United, fit in English football, he has the skills. Really glad we signed him.

“We are really confident he will make a lot of progress in the coming period and the coming years and he will make a huge contribution to our game.”
