Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest: Early team news

Manchester United are preparing for their third Premier League game of the season, after suffering their first defeat of the 2023/24 campaign last weekend. It is our first 3pm kick-off off the season and we’ll be hosting Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.

The Reds are looking to extend a 30-game unbeaten home run across all competitions when they take on Steve Cooper’s side.

Forest have started the season well, too. They ran Arsenal close at the Emirates Stadium before taking all three points from a win over Sheffield United last Friday.

There was a blow for United in the build up to this game as Mason Mount suffered an injury and may miss out on games until after the first international break of the season.

It will be up to either Christian Eriksen or Scott McTominay, although my money would be on the Dane.

Unfortunately for Ten Hag, Kobbie Mainoo is still ruled out with the injury he sustained during pre-season.

We will have more updates after Erik ten Hag’s press conference

Amad Diallo and Tyrell Malacia are both ruled out with injuries.

Meanwhile, Forest have in-form Taiwo Awoniyi in attack along with former United winger Anthony Elanga.

They’ve got a number of absentees to worry about such as Wayne Hennessy, Omar Richards, Felipe and Olaoluwa Aina.

More updates to follow after Friday’s press conference.
