Andre Onana was the subject of penalty and VAR drama on his Manchester United debut.
The Cameroonian oversaw a scintillating performance on his first outing and has already received plaudits from fans and viewers alike following his maiden clean sheet.
He did leave fans with their hearts in their mouths for a short period in the Red Devils’ season opener though; in the fifth minute of injury time, Onana clashed his hands into Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Sasa Kalajdzic when claiming a cross in his penalty area, leaving the forward on the floor and clutching his head.
Wolves, obviously, were quick to hound the referee for a spot-kick but after several minutes of VAR checking the incident, Simon Hooper opted against checking the pitchside monitor.
The match ultimately ended 1-0 to United.
