West Ham make £60m joint bid for Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire

West Ham United have made a £60 million joint bid for Manchester United’s Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire, as per The Athletic.

Earlier today, it was confirmed that the Irons had submitted an improved £30m offer for the Englishman after their opening proposal of £20m was rebutted by United.

The report now suggests that the West Ham board are hoping to complete a double-swoop for the outcast duo amid their uncertain futures at Old Trafford.

David Moyes’ side are yet to make a summer signing this transfer window despite recuperating £105m from Declan Rice’s widely-covered switch to Arsenal. The funds have not been redistributed into the squad, sparking concern for supporters as last season the club only narrowly avoided relegation in the closing stages of the campaign.

Maguire open to West Ham move

They’ve now identified McTominay, 26, and Maguire, 30, as suitable options to bolster the team. The latter was recently stripped of the captaincy armband and both players saw their game time significantly reduced under Erik ten Hag, so they may be open to taking on a new venture elsewhere.

West Ham are under the impression that the defender would give the green light to the move, especially as more minutes will be crucial to his involvement in the England squad with the Euro 2024 tournament on the horizon.
