The summer transfer throws up some ridiculous stories from time to time and we’ve found one in today’s print edition of Sport.
The report (cited by Sport Witness) claims Manchester United have included Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni in their transfer list.
Now, we can’t be certain if this list is Erik ten Hag’s unrealistic list of targets or not, but I don’t think Real Madrid will be parting ways with Tchouameni anytime soon – even if they really want to sign Kylian Mbappe.
Bayern Munich are being linked with the young French midfielder, but they are not the only club interested in doing a transfer.
It’s claimed that United are considering making an offer ‘very similar’ to what Real Madrid spent on Tchouameni to sign him from AS Monaco last year (€80m plus €20m in bonuses).
Although Real Madrid intend to keep the player next season, the report states the ‘market circumstances’ could see them cash in.
Those market circumstances could involve Real Madrid’s attempts to sign Paris Saint-Germain wantaway star Mbappe.
Real Madrid will need to sell players to launch operation Mbappe. Sport suggest Tchouameni has been identified as one of the players who could be sold since there are several clubs keen on the player.
