Leeds target Manchester United left-back ahead of promotion push

Leeds United will be looking for any ammunition they can get in their quest to get back to the Premier League.

There was no sympathy in these parts when Leeds suffered relegation last season, although the fixture is missed on the calendar, especially as one of the most popular away trips for Reds.

Brandon Williams knows he will continue to find playing time hard to come by at United, so he is likely to move on at some point in the future. Reports now suggest that Leeds could make an offer to sign the left-back.

According to The Independent, Leeds are considering a move for Williams, as Daniel Farke attempts to sign a player he had on loan at Norwich City.

It is understood that Erik ten Hag wants to reshape his squad, therefore, the club’s preference would be to sell Williams rather than send him away on loan.

An injury at the start of the last campaign meant the 22-year-old lost his chance to make an impression on Erik ten Hag. And, we now have a left-back department too strong for Williams to get his nose in.

With Tyrell Malacia providing back-up at left-back for Luke Shaw, Ten Hag shouldn’t forget that he also has Alvaro Fernandez. The highly-rated Spaniard is surely ahead of Williams in the pecking order.
