Andre Onana’s agent breaks silence on how Manchester United transfer materialised

Andre Onana’s agent Albert Botines has revealed how the transfer to Manchester United for his client materialised, with Erik ten Hag being the main pull factor amid interest from other Premier League clubs.

Manchester United completed the signing of Andre Onana from Inter Milan last week and he is set to make his debut for the club against Real Madrid in Houston.

Speaking to CalcioMercato before the match, Onana’s agent, Botines said: “It all started a few months ago. Around April many people inquired about the player. Tottenham asked for information, Chelsea had a very strong interest.

“There were meetings in London and Chelsea had also met with Inter, but the figure of Ten Hag was key.

“We are looking forward to facing great coaches like Guardiola and trying to win titles with Manchester United. We have a great desire to rock.”

Onana played a key role in Inter reaching the Champions League final last season, but he was also key in Ten Hag’s successful Ajax side.

It bodes well that the manager is having such a good impact on players that it sounds like they want to come to United to make a real difference.

We seen that with last summer’s signings. Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro both become star players, making their presence felt in what was a successful campaign as United ended a 6-year trophy drought by winning the League Cup.

Hopefully, with Onana added to the team next season, United enjoy more success under Ten Hag.
