An update from Italy suggests that Manchester United are still in the process of signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

It was long suggested that Friday would be the big day for Onana to complete his move to Old Trafford.

However, there is still work to be done on the deal in terms of commissions, incentives and bonuses to be fixed.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Friday was a busy day for negotiations, but progress was made as Onana edges closer to joining United.

The report claims Inter could earn less than €55 million with a base of €48-50m plus bonuses.

That means Onana is set to replace David de Gea as United’s No.1, which I think will please most fans. It will certainly please Erik ten Hag, who worked with Onana during his time in charge at Ajax.

The Italian journalist adds that Onana will soon “empty the lockers and get ready for his new adventure” at Old Trafford.
