Barcelona will try and re-sign 19-year-old Manchester United defender

Barcelona will reportedly try and re-sign Manchester United Academy prospect Marc Jurado.

That’s according to Que T’hi Jugues, which confirms that the reigning La Liga champions are actively working on a deal to bring the defender back to La Masia.

Jurado is yet to make his senior debut for the Red Devils, having joined the club in 2020. He was included in the matchday squad for a Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest last season, which marked his first-ever call-up to the first team, though he was an unused substitute.

On Wednesday, he featured in the club’s opening pre-season friendly against Leeds United.

He is a regular starter for the Under-21s and the consistent quality shown in his performances has surely captured the attention of Erik ten Hag, who will be looking at the reserve side to see which players may be ready for some senior action after the summer.

Barcelona actively pursuing youngster

The 19-year-old has what it takes to become a first-choice full-back for a top club, hence why Barcelona are looking to rekindle their relationship and sway the Spaniard towards a return to Catalonia.

Whether or not United will sanction the exit of such an exciting Carrington prospect remains to be seen.
