Manchester United open negotiations with Everton over exit of 21-year-old attacker

Manchester United are in talks with Everton regarding a potential deal for Anthony Elanga.

According to trusted Everton reporter The Bobble and as confirmed by Manchester Evening News, the two Premier League clubs are negotiating a deal that could see the 21-year-old make the switch to Goodison Park this summer.

MEN’s report states that the Merseyside club were close to sanctioning his arrival in the January transfer window but United backed out at the final stages of the proposed deadline day move.

Elanga’s game time has dropped significantly

Elanga’s last goal for the club came in February 2022, marking his fourth-ever in United colours. In the past 57 games, he has made only four starts and his last appearance was during their Europa League exit on April 20 against Sevilla, where he featured for just three minutes.

He last appeared in the Premier League when the Red Devils were thoroughly embarrassed by rivals Liverpool in the notorious 7-0 thrashing at Anfield. The forward entered the fold late in the game to see out the closing stages of the defeat on March 5.

The board will only ask for a fee of £10 million to oversee the departure of the Carrington graduate.
