Everton launch £15-20m bid for Manchester United attacker

Everton have submitted an offer between £15-20 million for Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga, according to the BBC.

It was confirmed yesterday by trusted Toffees reporter The Bobble that the club had opened talks with the Red Devils over the 21-year-old attacker.

Manchester Evening News also reported that Everton had tried to sign the forward on deadline day of the January transfer window but United pulled out of the proposed deal in the 11th hour.

Elanga is a product of Carrington Academy but has failed to make a lasting impact in the first-team squad, especially under Erik ten Hag.

A quiet year for Elanga

He has four goals to his name after making his debut in May 2021 and despite being utilised frequently by interim manager Ralf Rangnick, he has dropped significantly down the pecking order over the past season.

The Sweden international last found the back of the net in February 2022 and in the past 57 matches, he has made just four starts. He last featured for the club on April 20 with a three-minute cameo as United bowed out of the Europa League.

In the Premier League, Elanga hasn’t made an appearance since a late substitution in the closing stages of the notorious 7-0 thrashing at Anfield back in March.
