Inter Milan not budging on £51m asking price for Andre Onana

Inter Milan are resisting Manchester United’s low-balling in talks over Andre Onana.

According to Sky Sports, Inter Milan are not budging on their £51m (€60m) asking price for their goalkeeper as Manchester United seek a replacement for David de Gea.

It is believed that negotiations between the two clubs have been positive, but all parties willing to find a happy outcome that would see Onana complete a summer transfer to United.

Sky Sports claim there would have to be a compromise on the fee and structure if the deal is to materialise. Sources have told the outlet that there is desire from all parties to reach a resolution before Onana is due to report for Inter’s pre-season on July 13.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has hinted that Onana could become a United player this week. That would suggest that we are set to meet Inter’s asking price.

Erik ten Hag worked with Onana at Ajax and it has been clear all summer that he wants the Cameroonian to replace De Gea.

United have also been linked with a move for Japan U21 goalkeeper Zion Suzuki as a back-up option to Onana.

While De Gea has announced his exit from United, the club must also solve Dean Henderson’s future amid interest from Nottingham Forest.
