Romano: It’s ‘Andre Onana week’ for Manchester United – what to expect

Manchester United look set to welcome their second signing of the summer to Carrington this week.

Mason Mount was unveiled as the latest addition to Erik ten Hag’s squad last Wednesday after his £60 million switch saw him end his 18-year association with Chelsea.

Now, the board are actively working on a deal for Andre Onana, whom Ten Hag coached throughout his time at Ajax.

After David de Gea announced his exit on Saturday, it only further confirmed United’s concrete pursuit of Onana to take his place between the sticks next season – which will certainly take some adjusting to after having the Spaniard as No.1 for the past 12 years.

‘Onana week’ at Old Trafford

Fabrizio Romano tweeted late on Sunday evening that this is “Onana week” for the Red Devils, as they hope to have the 27-year-old’s transfer finalised in the coming days.

Personal terms are already agreed and United are preparing to launch their final bid to get the deal over the line, with sources anticipating that Inter Milan will accept the offer by Wednesday or Thursday.
