Manchester United submit €45m bid for Andre Onana while Inter set deadline for negotiations

Manchester United have launched their opening bid for Andre Onana, as per Italian reporter Alfredo Pedulla.

The Red Devils have reportedly tabled a €40 million offer with a further €5m in add-ons, though this does not meet Inter Milan’s valuation of their first-choice goalkeeper.

Consequently, the Serie A club will likely reject the proposal and demand an improved fee. They are open to holding talks with United until July 20 and if an agreement is not met by the deadline, Onana will be staying at the San Siro.

Should a deal be agreed, the Cameroonian would reunite with his former coach Erik ten Hag, whom he played under at Ajax.

De Gea to remain a free agent

It would also all but confirm David de Gea’s future in Manchester; he became a free agent on July 1 but is expected to meet with the United hierarchy this week regarding a potential new contract. However, if Onana signs, the board would opt against extending the Spaniard’s 12-year stay.
