Manchester United confirm exits of forward and midfielder

Manchester United have confirmed that Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst will be returning to their respective clubs following the expiration of their loans.

Sabitzer will be heading back to Bayern Munich after making 18 appearances for the Red Devils. He scored three goals and contributed one assist in all competitions but saw his season end prematurely after he sustained an injury at the beginning of May.

The 29-year-old midfielder lifted the Carabao Cup with the club.

Weghorst returns to Premier League club

Weghorst will be staying in England and returning to newly-promoted Burnley, so there’s a chance he may line up against United again next term if he stays with the Clarets.

His time in Red was nothing short of underwhelming; two goals and three assists but zero Premier League goals – not ideal for your starting striker when trying to compete on all fronts.

Hopefully, United can now acquire a prolific forward that’s able to contribute consistently week in, week out.
