FC Porto are reportedly concerned Manchester United could move away from a deal for goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo (H/t Sport Witness), Manchester United have established contacts with Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana’s entourage after being put off by FC Porto’s €75 million valuation for Costa.
Costa has been linked with a move to Old Trafford ever since Erik ten Hag was made manager a year ago. It is thought that Portugal’s new No 1 would be the perfect fit for Ten Hag’s side.
The problem for Costa is he has seemingly been priced out of a move this summer, with Porto demanding €75m for the 23-year-old keeper.
No wonder United are looking elsewhere.
With United also looking to sign a midfielder and striker, I am not surprised that we are refusing to meet Porto’s ridiculous asking price fort Costa.
Reports suggest that United met with Onana’s agent on Thursday, although they still need to come to a conclusion over David de Gea’s uncertain future.
United need to find a new keeper this summer whether it’s to compete with De Gea or replace him. Personally, I am hoping it’s the latter and we can find a keeper to improve the team’s build up play.
