Harry Kane still hopeful of Manchester United transfer despite Daniel Levy stance

Harry Kane is still hopeful that Manchester United will be able to convince Daniel Levy to accept a bid this summer, according to reports.

Tottenham’s chairman would have to lower his £100 million demand since Kane could leave on a free transfer next year.

The England captain scored a brace at Old Trafford against North Macedonia on Monday night – and many United fans hope to see him do that on a regular basis next season, in a Red shirt.

The Daily Mail claims Kane’s future hangs on Levy and whether the chairman softens his hardline stance on dealing with another Premier League club, but the striker remains hopeful of a switch to Old Trafford.

The report adds that United have already made it clear they will not pay £100m for a player who turns 30 next month and only has one year left on his current deal.

However, it’s suggest that a price tag closer to £80m could tempt United back to the negotiation table.

If United have walked away from Levy’s demands, surely we can forget about this story and stop making it a saga? Obviously not.

As much as I’d like Kane at United next season, I don’t think it makes sense to spend an entire summer chasing one player – and missing out on alternative targets.

We did that with Frenkie de Jong last summer and we all know how that ended.
