Manchester United have reportedly switched their attention from Harry Kane to Rasmus Hojlund as Erik ten Hag looks to sign a new goalscorer ahead of next season.

The 20-year-old Atalanta striker is currently on international duty with Denmark, preparing to take on Northern Ireland and Slovenia in the Euro qualifiers.

At 6ft 1in tall, the physical striker also comes with pace and he is already drawing comparison to Erling Haaland, which has led to speculation over a move to Old Trafford.

According to Ekstra Bladet (H/t Sport Witness), Manchester United will have scouts in attendance at Parken later today, to take a closer look at Hojlund in action against Northern Ireland.

Hojlund has scored give goals in his last two matches for Denmark and he will be aiming to impress the United scouts ahead of a potential big move from Atalanta this summer.

United need more than one striker because Erik ten Hag cannot rely on Anthony Martial, who should be moved on this summer (if only someone else would pay him ridiculous wages), and it doesn’t look like we’ll be signing Tottenham skipper Harry Kane.

Hopefully Hojlund can impress tonight but we really need more clarity on United’s striker search.
