Rasmus Hojlund flattered by Manchester United transfer links

Manchester United are being linked with a number of strikers, with the list growing longer as the club realises how difficult it will be to sign Harry Kane this summer.

One player is Rasmus Hojlund.

The Atalanta star was asked about his reported contact with Manchester United but the Danish striker admits it is flattering to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Hojlund could join fellow Dane, Christian Eriksen, at United and both players will be together on international duty this week. Perhaps it would be a good time for the Atalanta striker to ask about life in Manchester, although he sounds excited about the speculation which is a good sign.

It was previously reported by the Manchester Evening News that Erik ten Hag has held multiple video calls with Hojlund.

The 20-year-old admits his goal is to reach the top of club football, but he denied that video calls with the manager had taken place.

“There has been no video calls,” Hojlund told Danish outlet Berlingske. “I can’t say anything about that.

“It’s a huge club, so I must have done something right if it says they want me. My goal is to reach the top shelf, and you can say that Manchester United is. So it will be huge.”

Hojlund also admitted that he has a new agent as we approach the transfer window. That’s always a sign that a player could be on the move.

“I have found someone, but it is on a trial period,” the striker added.
