Ole Gunnar Solskjaer targeted by Championship side looking for Premier League return

Reports suggest Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a wanted man.

The Norwegian has been out of work since he was sacked by Manchester United in 2021 following a difficult campaign.

According to the Daily Mail, Leicester City are considering Solskjaer because of the counter-attacking style of football his team showed at Old Trafford.

It is believed the 50-year-old is on a list of potential candidates, after Leicester initially prioritised Graham Potter, who is a free agent since his dismissal from Chelsea.

Potter is unlikely to take a job in the Championship and it won’t be long before a Premier League club seeks his services.

Dean Smith, who replaced Brendan Rodgers until the end of the season, is not being completely ruled out either.

Scott Parker is another option after successfully winning promotion to the Premier League with Fulham and Bournemouth. Man City’s assistant manager Enzo Maresca is also being touted as a potential option.

When you see Frank Lampard still getting jobs, as well as Steven Gerrard, it is mind blowing that Solskjaer has been out of work for so long. Perhaps that is his choice because I’m sure he has turned down jobs over the past year.

Let us know in the comments section if you think Solskjaer should take the Leicester job. They will be looking to get back into the Premier League next season.
