Manchester United are reportedly preparing their opening bid for Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.
Earlier today it was confirmed that the Red Devils had ended their pursuit of Harry Kane due to Tottenham Hotspur’s reluctance to sanction his exit, as well as how expensive a deal may have been.
The club are now actively scouring the market for alternatives to fill the void up front and Hojlund has been earmarked as a plausible option, though according to The Guardian, he would not be a regular starter.
Hojlund, 20, scored 16 goals and contributed seven assists in all competitions across the 2022/2023 campaign. He received plaudits following his Denmark debut after scoring a hat-trick on his first-ever start.
United preparing Hojlund bid
Italian reporter Alfredo Pedulla has reported this evening that the Reds are planning to lodge a bid for the young forward for around €60 million plus add-ons.
He adds that whilst the two clubs have not directly held negotiations, intermediaries are actively working on a potential deal.
