Manchester United fear Harry Maguire could end pursuit to sign Napoli defender

Manchester United are reportedly concerned that their hopes of signing highly-rated Napoli defender Kim Min-jae could be ended by Harry Maguire’s reluctance to leave Old Trafford.

According to 90min, Manchester United will only be able to sanction a move for Kim Min-jae if they manage to sell Maguire.

A report from talkSPORT earlier this week suggested that Maguire wants to remain at United, even though he won’t get the game time he wants next season.

I find it hard to believe that Maguire is willing to jeopardise his place in the England squad because it’s only getting harder for Gareth Southgate to select him every time when he’s not playing regularly.

United have yet to receive any offers for Maguire, although there has been reported interest from Tottenham.

I’ve always thought that a move somewhere like Aston Villa or West Ham would make perfect sense for the England international.

It would be a great shame if Erik ten Hag was to miss out on a target like Kim on the basis on Maguire wanting to stay for the sake of a good pay day.

  1. If the allegations that he’s reluctant to move on are true it’s obviously due to monetary reasons. But that’ll be an oversight on his part coz his profile can undoubtedly rise if he starts playing regular football & with it comes lucrative spin offs
