Casemiro picks up two Manchester United awards in May

Casemiro won Manchester United’s final Player of the Month award of the 2022/23 season, along with the accolade for the club’s best goal scored in May.

The Brazilian midfielder came out on top of both fan polls (via ManUtd.com), and he was shortlisted with Bruno Fernandes and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the performance award. It is his second time winning the award since his transfer from Real Madrid.

Casemiro arrived as a new signing at the start of the season and quickly became an essential part of Erik ten Hag’s midfield.

Only 11% separated all three candidates for the Player of the Month award, while Casemiro also led the charts for Goal of the Month.

His acrobatic strike at Bournemouth picked up 64% and voters had 10 goals to pick from. The airborne volley was set up by Christian Eriksen’s through ball.
