Manchester United held talks over a move for Adrien Rabiot last year, but a deal never materialised. A year on and reports suggest the Reds have ‘come back strong’ to sign the France international.
The bonus for Manchester United this time around is that Rabiot is out of contract at Juventus this summer and he’ll be free to join another club that shows interest.
Just two days ago, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport (H/t Sport Witness) ran a report stating United were keen on landing the midfielder.
A new report from Gazette dello Sport claims Rabiot has his ‘bags ready’ to change clubs, with Juventus failing to qualify for the Champions League being one of his reasons.
Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in Rabiot’s signature.
Erik ten Hag had to deal with injuries and suspensions in midfield last season, and he was often short of options due to a lack of quality in the squad.
I think it goes without saying that Rabiot would be an improvement on Fred and Scott McTominay, but he could also join along with Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, who has already agreed personal terms with United.
United will be expecting fewer complications when dealing with Rabiot’s agent/mother this time around.
Let’s wait and see how this one rolls out over the coming weeks.
