Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson looks set join Nottingham Forest on a permanent deal.
After spending last season on loan at the City Ground, it is understood that Nottingham Forest have a deal in place to sign Dean Henderson.
Fabrizio Romano claims talks have been ongoing with Forest, despite Henderson missing the second half of last season through injury.
Speaking to The United Stand, Romano explained that an exit for Henderson is getting near as the player wants to leave Old Trafford: “This is close. This is something which has been discussed for weeks, two to three weeks, discussion between Nottingham Forest, Manchester United, the agents of the player.
“The player wants to go. Manchester United want to accept that proposal. It is just a matter of time. I’m told its not done yet but should be very soon.”
It doesn’t come as a surprise that Henderson wants to leave because nobody at United can give him assurances over game time, even though Erik ten Hag is likely to sign a new keeper this summer.
Forest did enough to stay in the Premier League, too, and Steve Cooper wants to ensure they have a quality keeper to ensure they keep their top-flight status.
A report from the Manchester Evening News — published last month — suggests Forest could pay up to £30 million to sign Henderson.
That would be a good bit of business for United.
