Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 41, announces retirement at San Siro

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced his retirement from football at the age of 41 following AC Milan’s final match of the season.

There were emotional scenes at the San Siro, where Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been adored for years by AC Milan fans.

After a 3-1 win over Hellas Verona on Sunday night, Ibrahimovic announced his retirement with the home fans displaying a banner to bid farewell to the striker.

The home fans then sang to him before he was given a guard of honour by his teammates.

Manchester United fans will have fond memories of his time at Old Trafford, but it will forever be a shame that he didn’t sign for us earlier in his career.

An incredible centre-forward and character throughout his career. We wish him a happy retirement.
