(Video) Manchester United fans stand with striking train drivers despite FA Cup disruption

A Manchester United fan has gone viral after showing support for striking train drivers, despite it disrupting their travel plans for the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Train services will be crippled again on Saturday because of another strike. The walkout by members of the train drivers’ union Aslef coincides with the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Man City at Wembley as well as the Epsom Derby.

This has led to thousands having to drive to London or organise coaches themselves. Manchester United have also helped by broadening the coach availability for fans.

Two United fans were asked about the strikes on BBC Breakfast, and they showed their support for those involved despite the disruption it has caused everyone going to the game.

“I’m not going to criticise them for going on strike, because I do believe in fair pay and conditions for everybody. I won’t criticise the strikers…” one fan told the BBC reporter.

“It’s difficult because if you’re picking a strike, you’re going to pick a day that’s going to have maximum impact.”

It’s great to see members of the public defending the striking railway workers even though the strike has directly effected them.

Maybe the government should listen.

When it comes to the final whistle at Wembley, hopefully all the travelling and inconvenience cause was worth it.

Safe travels to everyone going to Wembley!
