According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are among the ‘options’ for Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard to join this summer.

A recent report from L’Equipe suggested Pavard, a regular France international, is ready to leave Bayern Munich after winning his fourth Bundesliga title.

Pavard, 27, seemingly has a long list of prospective suitors which includes a list of top clubs around Europe.

There is a possibility that Bayern Munich could demand as much as €30m-€40m (£25.8m-£34.5m) to agree to any sale.

On Saturday morning, Plettenberg tweeted:

It sounds like Pavard and Bayern have come to a mutual agreement to go their separate ways this summer, should one of the prospective suitors make an offer they deem acceptable.

The update tells us that Pavard has admiration from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and that could make a transfer difficult to negotiate.

On another note, I think a transfer in the region of £30m for a versatile World Cup-winning defender would be quite appetising.

But there isn’t enough to suggest United are prioritising Pavard. He could be on a long list of defensive options for Erik ten Hag.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Pavard.
