Manchester United dealt injury blow ahead of FA Cup final

Anthony Martial will play no part in this weekend’s FA Cup final.

Manchester United have the chance of a cup double and simultaneously ending Man City’s treble dream in Saturday’s FA Cup final.

Everyone knows that a trophy lift is the perfect way to end a season, and it’s already been a good one for United – but not for players like Anthony Martial, who has endured constant setbacks with injuries throughout the campaign.

It has reached a point that I think Erik ten Hag would be mad to rely on him next season.

The Reds will be without Martial for their FA Cup final showdown with rivals Man City.

Martial has sustained a hamstring injury after coming off the bench in the 2-1 win over Fulham. The club has confirmed via ManUtd.com that he has been diagnosed with a muscle tear following further assessments.

The sad thing about this is I don’t think anyone will be surprised by the news.

This setback will only cast further doubt over Martial’s future at United. If Ten Hag can’t trust him to be available, what good is keeping him around?

Martial has been at Old Trafford since moving from Monaco in the summer of 2015. He has scored 88 goals for the club across 298 appearances.
