Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is being touted around Europe this summer.
Even though Chelsea have just appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager on a two-year contract, ESPN understands Juventus are leading the race to sign USA international Christian Pulisic.
It does not look like Pochettino’s arrival will change any plans previously made for Pulisic to leave Stamford Bridge after another dismal season.
The winger cost Chelsea £58 million from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, but with just 12 months remaining on his current deal it sounds like his days are numbered.
This means Pulisic’s representatives will be making themselves busy this summer to try find their client a new club.
In turn, it won’t surprise you to read that Pulisic was also offered to United.
The ESPN report claims Pulisic’s agents have made a list of clubs aware of the player’s likely transfer fee and salary, which sees him earn £13m-per-year at Chelsea. Those clubs include Manchester United, Newcastle, Napoli, AC Milan and Galatasaray.
It is suggested that Pulisic could be available for £20m this summer, but I don’t think he would bring our team enough in the final third to warrant that sort of investment.
Some may say that we should think twice before passing on a clearly talented 24-year-old. Those people are completely ignoring the fact Pulisic has endured an injury-hit time at Chelsea over the past two seasons.
