Boost for Arsenal as Declan Rice puts Manchester United transfer in doubt

Declan Rice is believed to be on the move this summer and there’s been a lots of speculation about him being a midfield target for Manchester United.

Arsenal and Chelsea have both been handed a major boost in the race to sign Rice, with Football Insider claiming the England international wants to remain in London.

That not only rules out a potential switch to Manchester United, where we think Rice would be an excellent signing, but Bayern Munich too.

Talks over Rice’s future are set to begin after the Europa Conference final but it’s reported that his representatives are already working on a transfer.

This doesn’t come as a blow to United as such because I would imagine Erik ten Hag has a number of midfield targets. And, there’s nothing to suggest Rice was a primary target.

Arsenal would make most sense if we wants to play Champions League football.

West Ham won’t be willing to give Rice up cheaply and anyone paying over £100m should be sneered at. He’s not worth that money.
