Alejandro Garnacho called up to Argentina squad for June friendlies

Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni has named his squad for their next round of friendly matches in June.

There is just one Manchester United player featured on the squad list and it isn’t Lisandro Martinez, who has missed the end of the season due to a metatarsal injury.

Even though Martinez is busy recovering from injury to be fit for the start, United fans can still watch Argentina next month with plenty of interest since there has been a dream call-up for 18-year-old Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho has enjoyed a spectacular breakthrough season under Erik ten Hag and it looks like Scaloni wants to make the most of that by introducing the forward to the senior international stage.

While Garnacho earned his first call up to the Argentina side in March, an injury cost him the chance to make his debut for the World Champions.

That injury came as a blow for United but the youngster has returned in time for the final games of the season. He is also set to feature in next weekend’s FA Cup final against Man City at Wembley.

Congratulations to Garnacho! Hopefully this time he can make his debut for Argentina.
