Manchester United host Chelsea at Old Trafford tomorrow evening in their penultimate Premier League fixture.
The Reds can secure Champions League qualification with a point, though they’ll certainly be going all out for the three.
The reverse fixture ended 1-1 back in October and saw Casemiro open his United goalscoring account with an emphatic injury-time equaliser. Since then, things have turned awry for the Blues.
Graham Potter’s six-month reign was nothing short of dismal and, unsurprisingly, it’s been the same under interim manager Frank Lampard, who was sought to see out the campaign whilst the board identify a long-term replacement in the dugout.
Lampard has picked up just one win in nine matches, sustaining seven losses in that time. They currently sit 12th-placed despite owner Todd Boehly splashing out £585.5 million in the past two transfer windows to bolster the squad.
How the sides fare
Their last two results were a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest and a 1-0 loss to Manchester City. On the other hand, United are on back-to-back victories and clean sheets with a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and a 1-0 win against Bournemouth.
Kick-off is at 8pm and the game will be broadcast on Sky Sports Main Event.
