Mason Mount favours United switch amid Arsenal and Liverpool interest

Chelsea star Mason Mount would reportedly prefer a move to Manchester United if he were to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

That’s according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, who confirms that the 24-year-old is “leaning”  towards a move to fellow Premier League rivals United.

Earlier today, it was reported by the Daily Mail that the Red Devils were planning a £55 million bid for Mount, with Arsenal and Liverpool also interested in the England international.

Chelsea set high valuation for Cobham graduate

He is about to enter the final year of his contract and is seemingly unwilling to extend his stay with his boyhood club. The Chelsea board will certainly try and get their money’s worth to avoid him leaving on a free next summer, so they’re believed to value their academy graduate at around £85 million.

This season, Mount has made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and assisting a further six. He has been sidelined since  April with a pelvic injury and is consequently a doubt to feature in tomorrow’s match at Old Trafford.
